After World War II, the College Women’s Association of Japan was founded. Due to the financial difficulties of the time, Japanese students, particularly female students, struggled to complete their studies.

Hundreds of eligible women received travel grants and scholarships as a result of the organization’s efforts, and many of them went on to become leaders in their fields. Since then, the group has expanded its reach to include international students pursuing doctorates in Japan.

Applications must be mailed to the organization’s Tokyo headquarters. All required forms can be downloaded as PDFs from the scholarship link. It includes the application form, reference letters to be completed by your counselors or instructors, and full instructions.
