1. Anderson & Stowell Scholarship
We begin our list of chronic illness scholarships for students with the Anderson & Stowell Scholarship.
This is one of the chronic illness scholarships available to students in college who are suffering from a physical sickness, disease, or handicap. Applicants must be enrolled full-time or part-time in a recognized college program and not on academic probation.
In addition, applicants must submit a two-page, double-spaced story describing the ups and downs of living with a chronic illness. Include responses to the following questions in your essay:
“What advice would you give to someone suffering from the same sickness or disorder?” What are some practices that help you go forward and live a psychologically and physically healthy life?

2. Cancer for College Scholarship
Another terrible, chronic ailment that enters our list of chronic illness grants for students is cancer. Cancer for College provides scholarships and other financial aid to cancer survivors so that they can succeed in college and beyond.
Students living with cancer can also apply for the scholarship, and if they have a health-related condition that compels them to leave school, they can request a one-time extension of their scholarship. To be eligible for the $5,000 grant, applicants must be enrolled in an authorized university or college.
Other required documents include academic transcripts from the previous two years, a letter of confirmation of diagnosis, a letter of recommendation from someone outside your family, and the first two pages of the applicable 2019 tax returns (this may change the next year).
The Cancer for College Scholarship is offered only a year, so if you miss out this year, you can apply the next year.

3. Cancer Survivor’s Fund

Another grant is available for cancer survivors and current cancer patients who are not getting treatment. An undergraduate program at a recognized school must be enrolled in or accepted for enrollment by the applicant.

Diabetes is a chronic illness, and the Diabetes Scholars Foundation has determined that it is appropriate to provide scholarships to people who have diabetes and wish to continue their education at a higher level.
To be considered for this scholarship, you must be a high school senior with Type 1 diabetes who wish to continue their education at a recognized two or four-year post-secondary institution, such as a university, college, technical, or trade school.
6. Students with a Heart Foundation Scholarships

This is one of the chronic illness scholarships available to students who have a cardiac condition. This scholarship is given out once a year, and if the person meets the qualifications, it can be renewed each year.
Applicants must be enrolled or in the process of enrolling in an approved university or institution to pursue a bachelor’s or master’s degree program. You must give an admission letter, an official schedule for their first semester, and high school transcripts if you are the latter.
Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA, a current diagnosis of heart problems from a qualified physician, a letter of recommendation, a personal statement of no more than 2,000 words, and no fewer than 500 words outlining the challenges you faced as a result of your heart problems.
Only citizens, nationals, and permanent residents of the United States are eligible to apply.
