One of Albania’s 11 public institutions, University “Aleksandr Moisiu” in Durrs (UAMD) was founded by Council of Ministers Resolution No. 801 on December 20, 2005. The university now has 97 study programs and confronts almost 20000 students over the course of three study cycles. There are six faculties available to students at this institution: Business, Education, Political Sciences and Law, Information Technology, Professional Studies, and Integrated Studies with Practice.
The UAMD has a budget of roughly 7.4 million Euros annually and is well known for the caliber of its teaching (about 518 teachers) and the effectiveness of its scientific research. As a partner nation in the Erasmus+ program of the European Union, the university encourages short-term exchanges for academic staff and students with foreign institutions of higher learning. The UAMD is a main partner in two CBHE projects.
